In spite our postal address is Østergade 24B, Firstline in reality lives in Pistol-stræde. You will find our front door a few steps inside the alley.
Pistolstræde is one of the very few remaining alleyways in Copenhagen.
Like other narrow passages in Copenhagen, Pistolstræde was made to squeeze in as many flats and occupants as possible. Until the 1870s, Pistolstræde was secondary street to the notorious Peder Madsen’s Lane, which harboured some of the city’s most infamous pubs and brothels.
Peder Madsen’s Lane was knocked down during the 1870s, when it gave space to the healthier Ny Østergade. The name Pistolstræde has its origin in the form the alley makes together with the small, pituresque square at the back.
